Open-brief collaboration
The Æ+Y introduces a series of collaborations with visionary designers. Each designer is given an open brief: a free hand to explore his or her own ideas of what mobile phone design could be. Æsir chooses designers with a distinct voice who it feels will create something challenging and different.
Design informs engineering
For each edition, Æsir identifies and assembles a bespoke team of technicians, engineers, craftsmen and materials experts. It seeks like-minded partners to work with: specialists with an artisanal approach, who can innovate and execute with the ingenuity and precision each edition requires. Æsir is committed to realising the designer’s vision, no matter how exacting it might be. It builds in limited quantities, with integrity and for longevity.
Provocative feelgood
Æsir’s philosophy is simple. By exploring what the mobile phone could be, it aims to provoke and engage. Æsir believes in aesthetics that excite and technology that feels good to use, because it is simple and intuitive.
